Past Experiments

Our hands-on STEAM activities have engaged students in foundational science and engineering concepts through creative, interactive experiments.

Bridge Building Exercise

Through the limit of using only 100 popsicle sticks, children were challenged to create a bridge that could withstand the maximum weight at a session in Tenafly Library. A lesson on architectural principles and simple physics before the start of the activity prepared them for this fun exercise!

Coin Batteries

Through a lesson on circuits and electricity, students were exposed to a simple and easy way to create their very own batteries using coins, a homemade salt-vinegar solution, paper, and LED lights!

Clay Brains

Through a lesson on brain structure, students were guided through sculpting various brain components with clay and at the end, combining everything to form a whole brain.

Strawberry DNA

Through a lesson on DNA, students were exposed to a simple and easy way to extract DNA from strawberries using fruit, a detergent solution, and rubbing alcohol!
