Our Story

Throughout our years in school, we've seen students frequently divide themselves by academic interests, thinking that they could only focus on either STEM or humanities subjects. However, we believed that these restrictions limit one's intellectual curiosity and prevent students from reaching a fulfilling education. As a result, STEAMsparks arose from a desire to emphasize the art and creativity that exists in, and is necessary for, STEM, incorporating creative elements into every hands-on activity we prepare to truly uphold the acronym: STEAM.

I am currently studying Business at Bergen Tech in Teterboro and primarily focus on the intersections it has with STEM. I have an avid interest in the field of Chemistry, particularly in regards to sustainable energy, and I love sharing that passion with others!

Samantha Liu

Co-Founder

As a student at Bergen Tech - Teterboro in the Law & Justice Major with a passion for biology, I have come to love the interdisciplinary field of neuroscience and psychology. I am passionate about sharing the connection between STEM and the social sciences to address real-world issues.

Catherine Garcia

While majoring in Commercial Art and Graphic Design at Bergen Tech, Teterboro, I also passionately study biology, anatomy, and physiology. Through combining creativity and art with the sciences, I hope to inspire others to pursue their interests without sticking to one academic "category."
